Marketing glossary
What is Backlink?
Backlink: A link from another website to yours. Links from relevant, trusted sites are a strong signal of authority for search engines.
Not all links are equal. One link from a respected industry publication can be worth more than hundreds from low-quality directories. Buying links or using link schemes breaks Google’s spam policies and can lead to penalties, so sustainable link building focuses on earning links with useful content, data, PR, and partnerships.
