What is llms.txt?
llms.txt: A plain-text markdown file at the root of a website that summarizes the site and links to its key pages in a format that’s easy for large language models to read.
The llms.txt proposal (llmstxt.org) suggests a simple file at /llms.txt with a site name, a short summary, and organized lists of important links. Some sites also publish /llms-full.txt with more detail.
It’s a lightweight signal rather than a ranking factor, but it helps AI tools that look for it understand who you are and where your most useful content lives.
